IN THE BEGINNING
The Home Church started with the quiet prompting of the Lord and a vision to save a lost and dying world. On March 29, 2018, the Hilton family welcomed a small but hungry group of worshippers into their slightly imperfect home in Friendswood, Texas.
As time went on, God opened a new door for The Home Church! We began to hear the Word and worship as a body at a Crossfit Gym. We were officially on the move for God as we set up and broke down for each service we held there – growing in the Lord and growing as a church. The Lord was surely leading the lost to our church, and, dare I say, we were getting comfortable in our space! We were fortunate to worship together there for about a year until we were given a word from missionaries, Bro and Sis Muthu, that said we would not be in that space much longer. Little did we know how quickly that prophecy would come to pass.
Just a few days later, the Lord swept the rug from beneath our feet as we received news that we would need to find a new place to worship. But, God! He provided a new space for us at the Clear Lake Rec Center, and that space was larger giving us room to grow. As an added benefit, chairs were provided, and we even had an air-conditioned space for Sunday school! What a true blessing that space was for us as more seats filled with saints and those in need of salvation. After several months at the rec facility, yet another door was closed, but this time it was due to COVID-19. It forced the shutdown of many places including our rec center.
But, God! COVID-19 has stopped neither His church from growing nor our church! Pastor Hilton felt led to move services to an online format until COVID restrictions were reduced. It was a new and strange atmosphere in which to worship, but it was a wonderful blessing when, despite the distance, new faces began popping up for our online services and new relationships thrived.
The Home Church is currently renovating our new meeting place in Clear Lake. During each service, as we lift our praises to Him and worship together as one body, we are believing for great miracles. Miracles where we are blessed with an even larger physical building, where prodigals are led Home, where the hurt is mended, where the sick are healed, and most importantly, for the greatest miracle of all – SALVATION for all who walk through The Home Church doors … wherever those doors may be.
